The Gift of an Extra Hour: Blackout Poetry and Creative Play

What would you do with an extra hour? How about giving yourself permission to create?

Daylight saving time is ending, and we're celebrating that extra hour with a little creativity! Join us at Kaleidoscope PA for a relaxing and playful introduction to blackout poetry, an art form that transforms the words on an existing page into something entirely new.

Using pages from discarded books, we'll explore how to find hidden poems by selecting words and phrases that speak to us, then covering or decorating the rest of the page. Experiment with different media including markers, paint, and collage, to transform your words into a unique piece of art. No artistic or poetry experience is necessary!

This workshop is FREE! In celebration of our November Season of Gratitude, optional donations will be accepted to support Happy Valley Creative Reuse, our developing community creative reuse center.

All materials will be provided. Just bring…
